Jessica Phoenix and her indelible mount Pavarotti rode into Canadian Equestrian history last weekend in Lima, Peru. They are the only Canadian equestrian duo to compete in three consecutive Pan American Games, earning 5 consecutive Pan American medals.    Laying down a foot-perfect performance in all three phases of Eventing, this dynamic horse-and-rider duo made it clear why they’re Canada’s sweethearts, finishing fifth individually as Canada’s top-ranked pair. Together, Phoenix and Pavarotti have competed in five major games, including three consecutive Pan American Games (Guadalajara, Toronto, Lima), leading the Canadian Eventing Team to three team medals (silver, bronze, bronze) and earning two individual medals (gold, silver)

When the pressure is on, Phoenix and Pavarotti shine time and again, displaying unwavering composure, confidence and determination. Their partnership, love and trust for one another was on full display in Lima, with reporters remarking on just how special they are together.   The official press release from Equestrian Canada shares some insight into their remarkable bond:

A two-time Olympian, it’s undeniable that competing for Canada is Phoenix’s passion, her trademark grin and professionalism exemplifying the Canadian team and its values.

A wife, mother to two young children, and role model for students across the country, it’s easy to see why Phoenix’s fan base is so dedicated. On her RISE book tour, she has spoken to over 5,000 students across Ontario, encouraging them to dream big and never give up. Her personal motto: If you can dream it, you can become it. It’s not just a sentiment. These are the words she lives by.
